Answering Your Questions
Q: What are the logistics of working with you?
Generally, I work with clients over the phone or via skype. After each session, I send a reminder email with the client’s “homeplay” (skills and practices to try between sessions), the date and time of our next session, and the number to call. Every once in a while I have a client who prefers to meet in person and so we work together at my office in Manhattan.

Q: I’m not technically plus-sized, can we still work together?
Yes. I would say about a quarter of my clients are not technically plus-sized. I understand that people of all shapes and sizes can have food and body image issues, and I’m happy to work with people of any size.

Q: I don’t identify as a woman, can we still work together?
Yes. Most of my clients identify as women, but I’ve also worked with clients who identify as men, genderqueer and trans. I’m happy to work with people, no matter how they identify genderwise.

Q: What are your qualifications?

I have been an intuitive eating and body image coach for the last 5 years. I studied nutrition and coaching at the Institute For Integrative Nutrition, graduating in 2006. I am also certified by The American Association Of Drugless Practitioners and a proud member of the Association For Size Diversity And Health. I’ve worked with hundreds of plus sized women on feeling healthy and great at any size. In addition to my “official” studies, I’ve read nearly every book on fat acceptance and Health At Every Size, and wrote my own book on how to stop dieting. In addition, I’ve studying holistic health since the late 90′s with everyone from Geneen Roth to Albert Villoldo to Mama Gena. In what feels like a prior life, I was an attorney. I graduated from NYU Law School in 2002 and with honors, summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa (and all that jazz) from NYU College of Arts & Sciences in 1999. (To learn more about me, click here.)

Q: Why don’t you list your rates on your site?
I don’t list them for a few reasons. First, I actually don’t work with everyone who asks to work with me. I like to make sure that we’re a good fit first, to make sure that I’m really the right coach for them. I do this by scheduling a free Body Love Breakthrough Session (you can get yours below). Secondly, I have different options for different budgets, and I like to work with my clients to assess what will work best for them, given both their coaching needs and their resources. For group coaching and other programs I do list my rates, and you can find information about those programs here.

Q: What are the benefits of working with you versus another coach or therapist?

“I scheduled a session with Golda because I thought she could really help me explore my body issues and learn to love myself how I am. I anticipated spending some time talking about my current body image and some past experiences that have affected it, as well as my goals for the future. Golda helped me map out what my ideas were for how I would like to see myself and treat my body. It was nice using her methods to imagine my future self-image and get some ideas on how to take small steps toward my goals. Anyone who has dreams of having a positive body image, a healthy relationship with food an…”
